Sheltie
The Shetland Sheepdog – or Sheltie for short – originates from the Scottish islands of the same name. Developed from crosses between the Border Collie, Greenland Dog, and later the classic Collie, the breed was officially recognized by the English Kennel Club in 1914. Its size can vary but usually lies between 35–40 cm at the withers.
Despite its long coat, the Sheltie is very easy to care for: hardly any matting, little odor, and minimal dirt absorption. In character, he is lively, watchful, intelligent, and highly eager to learn – an ideal family dog who also excels as a therapy or rescue dog.
