Border Collie

The Border Collie is an FCI-recognized breed with origins in 16th-century England and Scotland. Back then, it was already an indispensable helper for shepherds – its tasks: herding and driving flocks of sheep. In 1976, the Border Collie was officially recognized for shows by the Kennel Club in London and included in the FCI standard in 1988.
Today, it is considered one of the most intelligent dog breeds worldwide. Its extraordinary perception, paired with willingness to work, enthusiasm for movement, and refined social behavior, makes it the ideal companion for active people. Whether agility, obedience, or frisbee – the Border Collie is fully engaged and loves both mental and physical challenges.
Thanks to its intelligence, it learns new commands in no time and is easy to train. When sufficiently challenged, it becomes a loyal, playful, and sensitive family dog. In everyday life, it also shows itself to be alert, friendly, and affectionate – a real bundle of energy with heart.
For active breeds like the Border Collie, Doctor Bark offers functional equipment tailored to energetic dogs. Particularly recommended are washable dog blankets, which can be used as a flexible base in the living room or dog basket. For nightly regeneration, an orthopaedic dog bed is ideal, relieving joints and supporting muscles after active days – perfect for sport dogs or long countryside walks.
All Doctor Bark products are washable at 95 °C, dimensionally stable, and dermatologically tested – ensuring long-lasting hygiene, durability, and maximum comfort.
