West Highland Terrier

The West Highland White Terrier – affectionately called “Westie” – originates from the Scottish Highlands and was originally bred for fox hunting. His striking white coat made him easily visible in the field, while his courageous character and compact build made him a reliable working dog underground. Despite his small size, the Westie is energetic, curious, and confident. At home, he is affectionate and alert, loves clear structures, and benefits from high-quality resting places – optimally adapted to his compact body shape.
For restful breaks, an orthopaedic dog basket from the RedLabel series is ideal, featuring a supportive mattress, reversible fleece and cotton lying surface, and full washability at 95 °C. For extra coziness, the ergonomic dog basket bed – softly padded, cuddly, and washable at 60 °C – is perfect for Westies with a strong need to snuggle.
For chilly nights or sensitive companions, the dog sleeping bag provides warmth and security – ideal as a retreat in the basket, bed, or on the go. The soft fleece inside keeps reliably warm, while the durable outer layer protects against drafts. Additionally, a quilted blanket, usable on both sides, pleasantly soft and reliably protective against cold, is recommended. It also serves well as a sofa cover or floor mat – and like all Doctor Bark blankets, it is fully washable at 95 °C and odor-free.
Whether power napping in the ergonomic basket bed or snuggling up in the sleeping bag – Westies benefit from well-designed, easy-care resting places. All Doctor Bark products are durable, high-quality, and washable – perfect for small, demanding terriers with big character.
