Gordon Setter

The Gordon Setter – also known as the Scottish Setter – is one of the oldest British pointing dogs. Originally bred for bird hunting, he impresses with stamina, intelligence, and an elegant, powerful build. With a height at the withers of up to 69 cm, he is among the larger setters.
He owes his name to the Duke of Gordon, who began targeted breeding in the 19th century. Despite his hunting heritage, the Gordon Setter is a friendly, family-oriented dog who shows a gentle, balanced character when given sufficient exercise. His hunting instinct remains, making consistent leadership and daily activity essential.
After an active day outdoors, the Gordon Setter needs a high-quality resting place: the orthopaedic dog cushions from Doctor Bark provide optimal support for spine and joints. For extra hygiene and comfort, waterproof replacement covers are available – ideal for wet coats or dirt.
For even more flexibility, a versatile dog mat is a perfect choice, serving as both floor mat and sofa protector – durable, easy-care, and available in different sizes.
For hunting trips and excursions, a boot cover for dogs is recommended. It protects the car boot from moisture, hair, and dirt, while the thermal padding provides comfortable rest and remains odor-neutral even after repeated washes at 95 °C.
Doctor Bark offers thoughtful solutions for active dogs like the Gordon Setter: orthopaedic cushions with optional covers, practical dog mats, and tailored boot & car seat covers. Everything is 100% washable, durable, and veterinarian-recommended.
