Eurasier
Despite its name, the Eurasier does not come from the Far East but was purposefully bred in Germany in the 1960s. The goal was to develop a robust, polar-type dog with a calm temperament and high social compatibility. The cross between Chow Chow, Wolfspitz and later Samoyed eventually led to official recognition by the VDH and the FCI in 1973.
The Eurasier is considered a gentle, intelligent companion with a strong need for bonding. He is watchful without being aggressive, reserved with strangers but affectionate and playful within the family. To develop his balance, he needs calm, loving yet consistent training – and above all: a fixed place in the home.
