English Toy Terrier

The English Toy Terrier – formerly known as the “Manchester Terrier” – is considered the oldest British toy breed. Originally bred as an agile ratter, it became especially well known in London pubs of the 19th century. There, the small, lightning-fast terriers competed against rodents in arenas – a macabre but popular pastime of the working class.
Thanks to its compact size (max. 30 cm shoulder height) and its brave yet people-oriented nature, the English Toy Terrier was also seen as an ideal companion and protector – often carried directly in a coat pocket. Today, it is quite rare, but its elegance, alertness and historic character make it a hidden gem for connoisseurs.
For small, sensitive dogs like the English Toy Terrier, the orthopaedic cuddle nest from Doctor Bark is ideal. The round shape offers security, while the reversible cushion with orthopaedic fleece gently adapts – perfect for resting, sleeping and snuggling, at home or as a mobile retreat.
For additional flexibility, the washable dog blankets are a great choice. Whether as sofa protection, outdoor mat or compact travel pad – they provide the terrier with a hygienic resting surface wherever he goes.
When traveling, the dog car blanket from Doctor Bark ensures protection and comfort. It keeps the back seat or boot clean and gives even small dogs secure footing during the ride.
All Doctor Bark products are fully washable at 60 °C or 95 °C, dryer-safe and hypoallergenic – perfect for small dogs with high demands for hygiene and comfort.
