English Toy Terrier
The English Toy Terrier – formerly known as the “Manchester Terrier” – is considered the oldest British toy breed. Originally bred as an agile ratter, it became especially well known in London pubs of the 19th century. There, the small, lightning-fast terriers competed against rodents in arenas – a macabre but popular pastime of the working class.
