Drever

The Drever is a classic hunting dog from Sweden with roots in the Westphalian Dachsbracke. In the early 20th century, this compact hound breed was crossed with other hunting types from England, Switzerland and the Baltic region. The Drever was officially recognized as an independent breed as early as 1947. Its name derives from the Swedish word “drev” – meaning “hunt.”
The Drever is not a high-speed hunter but an enduring, calm tracker with a pronounced sense of smell. He is mainly used for hunting deer, fox, hare and rabbit – determined, steady and with clear focus. As a pure family dog, he is rarely found – the Drever is primarily a resilient hunting companion with a strong working drive.
For well-deserved rest after a long day in the field, a comfortable dog bed from Doctor Bark is recommended. The durable materials are designed for daily use and provide a stable, soft surface for muscle regeneration. Alternatively, a washable dog blanket serves as a flexible resting area – whether on the floor, in the car or in the hunting lodge.
On the road, the hunting dog also needs a safe resting spot: the dog car blanket from Doctor Bark protects the vehicle from dirt, odors and hair – non-slip, resistant and washable at 95 °C for hygienic cleanliness.
All Doctor Bark products – from blankets to beds to car seat covers – are fully machine-washable at 60 °C or 95 °C, allergy-friendly and dryer-safe. This keeps everything hygienically clean – even after a long, wet hunting day in the field.
