Boxer

The Boxer—also known as the “German Boxer”—is considered a direct descendant of the Brabanter Bullenbeisser, which in the Middle Ages was used for hunting bears and wild boar. This compact, muscular dog has a square build—its back length and shoulder height are almost identical and can reach up to 60 cm.
Although officially recognised in 1924 as a service dog for police, customs, and the military, the Boxer is rarely used in these areas today. Instead, he finds his calling as a guard, tracking, or rescue dog—and above all as a spirited, loyal family companion. With children, he loves to romp and play for hours and enjoys close physical contact with his people.
Despite his energy, the Boxer has a calm, self-assured presence. He needs clear rules, plenty of exercise, and a fixed resting place in the home. His short coat is easy to maintain—but his muscles need proper recovery, especially after active days or training.
For active dogs like the Boxer, Doctor Bark offers premium equipment. The washable dog blankets with non-slip underside are available in several colours and provide hygienic comfort zones—at home or on the go. The durable dog cushions serve as flexible resting spots, while the orthopaedic dog bed specifically supports joints and muscles—perfect for recovery after sports or long activity.
All products are dermatologically tested, washable at 95 °C, and permanently dimensionally stable—ideal for active dogs that demand hygiene, comfort, and durability.
