German Kleinspitz

The German Kleinspitz was originally bred in the Mannheim region and was long known as the “Mannheimer Spitz”. Historically often confused with the Pomeranian, today both are recognised as distinct breeds. With a height at withers of 23–29 cm and a back length of up to 35 cm, the Kleinspitz belongs to the small but self-confident companion dogs.
Typical of the breed is its lively, attentive character. Kleinspitze are extremely affectionate, family-oriented and highly alert – strangers are reported loudly. Despite their small size, they appear courageous, energetic and thrive in a stable environment with clear structure.
For relaxed resting phases, a form-stable dog bed provides hygienic sleep comfort and long-lasting quality – ideal for small breeds. Alternatively, the dog cushion offers a flexible lying surface with orthopaedic or soft padding, also fully washable at 95 °C.
For safe and clean car journeys, a car seat cover is recommended. It protects seats or boot from hair, moisture and scratches, is odour-neutral and equipped with sound-absorbing thermal padding.
As an additional lying surface or sofa protector, a dog blanket is ideal. It provides soft comfort at home and remains shape-retaining even after many washes.
Doctor Bark products are thoughtfully designed, washable at 95 °C and suitable for daily use – from orthopaedic beds and ergonomic cushions to car seat covers and blankets for every situation in the life of small breeds such as the Kleinspitz.
