Entlebucher Mountain Dog
The Entlebucher Mountain Dog is the smallest representative of the Swiss Mountain Dogs – alongside the Bernese, Appenzeller and Greater Swiss Mountain Dog. Despite its compact build, it brings plenty of power: up to 52 cm in height and 20–30 kg in weight make it a muscular, agile companion with a strong working spirit.
Known for being spirited, alert and highly trainable, the Entlebucher often shows a tendency to bark and has high exercise needs. Dog sports such as agility or long-line work suit him well, as does classic retrieving. He is not ideal for beginners, since he requires clear leadership. Once well-trained, however, he becomes a loyal, affectionate family dog with strong social bonds.
