Danish-Swedish Farmdog
The Dansk-Svensk Gårdshund – known as the Danish-Swedish Farmdog – is a lively piece of Scandinavian history. Originally used as a reliable ratter on farms, he strongly resembles the Jack Russell or Smooth Fox Terrier in appearance. To this day, he proves to be an uncomplicated, loyal and vigilant family dog with little tendency to roam.
Since 1985 the breed has been officially recognized in Denmark, while the FCI currently lists it as provisionally accepted. With a height at withers of up to 37 cm and a compact back length of up to 35 cm, it belongs to the small but robust companions. Typical features are its short, mostly white coat with reddish-brown or black markings – and of course its terrier-like folded ears.
